This fall we are lucky to be joined by three fabulous new interns at NLIRH. They will all be blogging for NV, NV. I’ll be introducing each of them with a quick interview this week and they will be begin blogging next week.
So to begin, welcome Angela Donadic, our Fall Policy and Advocacy Fellow!
What brings you to NLIRH?
I have a strong interest in reproductive health, and am hoping to learn more about the field from a policy perspective.
What is it about reproductive justice that gets you going?
What bothers me the most is the gaps in services provided to women, including availability, affordability, knowledge or insurance, just to name a few. Reproductive health is something that is impacted by many variables, and I think this need to be accounted for when considering the average women in the United States.
What are some issues you think you will blog about?
I would like to blog about medical advances and the access given to women in marginalized communities, as well as work being done at the community level to help improve the health of women who may have difficulty accessing care. I am also interested in immigrant policy and how this affects women entering the U.S.
