- More than 200 emails were sent to Congress demanding access to affordable contraception for Latinas and all women.
- Our Latina Advocacy Networks in Texas, Florida and Minnesota held letter writing campaigns which resulted in over 1000 letters that were sent to Congress.
- OVER 20 blog posts were written, sharing stories about reproductive justice and contraception.
- Our colleagues and activists hosted events around the country, in Colorado, Florida, California, Minnesota, Texas and New York and YOU came out to support our work!

All women need affordable access to birth control services, supplies and visits. And, in these tough economic times, many women are seeking to reduce their risk of unintended pregnancies. For some women, contraception can cost upwards of $500 yearly and these costs compete with monthly necessities, such as child care and feeding their families. Latinas, immigrants, and other women of color often struggle to afford birth control and the expensive insurance co-payments for birth control. Yet Latinas have the lowest rate of health insurance coverage of women of any other racial or ethnic group, which places them at a higher risk for unplanned pregnancies and inconsistent contraceptive usage.
