In September after delivering letters from activists – including 1,800 letters that were gathered in just two days in Texas – both Republican and Democratic senators said they would support the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM Act) (S.729) if brought as a stand-alone bill. Well, this is their chance to make good on that promise!
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced this week that after Thanksgiving he would introduce the immigration bill that would allow young undocumented immigrants, who were brought to the United States before they turned 16, a path to U.S. citizenship.
That’s why we need you to urge your Senator to support the DREAM Act. This bill provides a much-needed route to lawful citizenship to the country many immigrant young people call home – contact your Senator today, and demand that we do this right away!
