Yesterday, we shared what some of our friends and organizational partners are doing to lift voices in support of health reform.
Today, we are bringing you more awesomeness!
The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a diverse coalition of over 200 national organizations including NLIRH promoting and protecting civil and human rights, has issued an amicus (friends of the court) brief to the Supreme Court of the United States arguing that not only is the health reform law constitutional, but it “advances equal opportunity and liberty” for disadvantaged Americans.
The Leadership Conference has also released a fact sheet about how the ACA benefits Latinos, the racial and ethnic group with the highest rates of health care uninsurance and a population who face many health inequities. They argue, “ the ACA integrates the uninsured more fully into the life of our nation and helps them to participate on a more equal footing with the rest of society.” Word.
Also National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has released a series of blog posts about how the ACA and Latin@s.
